Werner Edgar Karl Ratsch (Smokey) passed away peacefully at Belvedere Heights, Parry Sound, on Monday January 22nd, 2024 at the age of 94 years.

Beloved husband of the late Martha Ratsch (nee Hartmann). Loving father of Stephen (Andrea), William (Patti) and Peter (Michele). Proud Opa and adored by grandsons Gregory (Meghan), Timothy, Jeremy and Benjamin, granddaughter Moorea, and step grandson Joshua. Dear brother of the late Vera. Fondly remembered by other relatives, and friends.

Everyone will miss Werner’s fun-loving, easy-going personality, as well as his passion for birds and making his innovative creations. As per the family’s wishes, please raise a glass of your favorite beverage in his honour and remember all the great times and memories you have had with him.

The family would like to thank the entire support team at Belvedere Heights for many years of care and support for Werner.

Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of Werner’s life will take place at a later time.
