VIOLET (VI) WALTERS
It is with great sadness we share with you the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Violet (Vi) Ann Walters left us peacefully with family by her side on Friday, October 4th in her 97th, year.
Violet was born at Maple Island in 1928, the third of eight children born to the late Dick and Nell (Demery) Brear. Violet was the loving mother of the late Willard Thomson (Donna); the late Evelyn Barkley (late Glen); Bruce Thomson (Sue); Steven Thomson (Paula); Michael Thomson (Susan); and the late Timothy Thomson (late Diane).
Violet is survived by her sister Marie Houser (Andy) and Richard Brear (Mary). Violet was predeceased by siblings: Muriel Zorisky (Joseph); Dorothy Ferris (Bob); Lillian Saunders (Bill), Doreen Mathews (Tom), and Norman Brear (Edna).
Violet deeply loved and is lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren: Tarina, Glenna, Barb, Melissa, Luke, Sarah, Nick, Abby, Kimberley, Misty and Robert;13 great grandchildren: Tyler, James Jr. ‘J.J.”, Lawson, Isaac, Kadyn, Colton, Emily, Quinn, Ben, Cameron, Thomas, Macklem, and Faith; and 2 great great grandchildren: Jazzabell and Ashlynn.
Violet is fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Violet will be sorely missed by all.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and to the nurses of the Palliative Care Unit.
Family and friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound on Friday, October 11th from 10:00 – 11:30 A.M. Funeral Service will take place in the Logan Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 11th at 11:30 A.M. Reception to follow.
Interment Fairholme Cemetery.
