Velma Eleanor Daley passed away unexpectedly at her home in the early morning hours of Mother’s Day, Sunday May 14th, 2023, in her 96th year.

Beloved wife of the late Dr. Daniel Daley, Velma was a dedicated and exceptional mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be so dearly missed by her children Jim (Gail), Eleanor, Ed (Sue), Jay (Cindy), grandchildren Katie (Paul), Ellen (John) , Chris (Stacey), Ryan (Kim) , Justin (Lora), Bradley (Matthew), Daniel (Nicole), Caitlin (Matt), Kylee (Ryan), Alex (Veronica), 12 great-grandchildren, her extended family, and her vast array of friends.

She was an incredible woman in so many ways. Living in her beautiful home on Georgian Bay, and still driving her car, she completely enjoyed the sunsets, nature and visits from us all. She was a remarkable, very intelligent and thoughtful individual with an astonishing memory. It is a shock that she has left us.

Visitation will take place at the Logan Funeral Home (705-746-5855), 81 James Street, Parry Sound, on Wednesday, May 24th, from 6:00-8:00 PM. A celebration of Velma’s life will take place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 58 Seguin Street, Parry Sound, on Thursday, May 25th at 11:00 AM. Reception to follow. I am very saddened by the passing of this wonderful lady. Through the brief years when she was my mother-in-law and all the years since, she was gracious, kind, and devoted to all her family. I am especially grateful for her love and care for Kate and Ellen and their children. She will be missed by us all. My thoughts are with all the family in your loss.

I'm sorry to hear of Mrs. Daley's passing. She was a good person and a dear friend to Janine's mom (Norma). I know that she will be missed but fondly remembered.

Sincere condolences to the extended Daley family. I met Mrs. Daley on a couple of occasions, she was such a kind person. Now she will be with her beloved Dr. Dan.

I was saddened to learn that the matriarch of the Dr. Daley family has left this world to join her love. My years of working with the wonderful Wright Clinic "family" have had a lasting positive experience on my life that will always remain in my heart. My sincere condolences to the Daley family. We shared many a Church pew with Velma and Dan at St. Andrew's, always in the balcony, and enjoyed many conversations with them both. Remarkable, conscientious woman. Wonderful couple.
