VELMA DALEY
Velma Eleanor Daley passed away unexpectedly at her home in the early morning hours of Mother’s Day, Sunday May 14th, 2023, in her 96th year.
Beloved wife of the late Dr. Daniel Daley, Velma was a dedicated and exceptional mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be so dearly missed by her children Jim (Gail), Eleanor, Ed (Sue), Jay (Cindy), grandchildren Katie (Paul), Ellen (John) , Chris (Stacey), Ryan (Kim) , Justin (Lora), Bradley (Matthew), Daniel (Nicole), Caitlin (Matt), Kylee (Ryan), Alex (Veronica), 12 great-grandchildren, her extended family, and her vast array of friends.
She was an incredible woman in so many ways. Living in her beautiful home on Georgian Bay, and still driving her car, she completely enjoyed the sunsets, nature and visits from us all. She was a remarkable, very intelligent and thoughtful individual with an astonishing memory. It is a shock that she has left us.
Visitation will take place at the Logan Funeral Home (705-746-5855), 81 James Street, Parry Sound, on Wednesday, May 24th, from 6:00-8:00 PM. A celebration of Velma’s life will take place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 58 Seguin Street, Parry Sound, on Thursday, May 25th at 11:00 AM. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation https://wpshcf.akaraisin.com/ui/inmemory/donations/start or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (donations by cheque or e-transfer to [email protected]) would be appreciated.

-Rosemary MasonOur condolences on the passing of Velma, such a warm and beautiful lady. We shared many a Church pew with Velma and Dan at St. Andrew's, always in the balcony, and enjoyed many conversations with them both. Remarkable, conscientious woman. Wonderful couple. She will be surely missed throughout the Parry Sound community. My mom and dad, Ann and Ron, thought the world of Velma and Dan. We're praying for the family.
-Dave AndersonWe have the fondest memories of Velma who, along with Dan, made us welcome and were so supportive of our family when we lived and worked in Parry Sound. Our sincere condolences to the family,
