Sherland William Irwin, 93, of Chatham, Ontario, died peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, April 19^th, 2026.

Born on January 23^rd, 1933, to Jim Irwin and Ellen Bailey in Orrville, Ontario. Sherland married Verna Beckett on September 25^th, 1954, and they had four children: Penny, Jeffery, James, and Valerie.

He last worked as a production team member and retired from Rockwell International in 1979. Sherland was an avid traveler, touring in an RV through Canada, United States and Mexico. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to hunt and fish all over Northern Ontario. Reading was his favorite hobby, whether it be his favorite western or murder mystery or the latest gossip magazine where he kept up on the lives of the rich and famous.

Sherland is survived by daughters Penny MacDonald (Bill) and Valerie Irwin, and son Jeffery Irwin (Laurie); grandchildren Paul Grant (Mandy), Megan Irwin, Katherine Irwin, Kim Irwin and Stephanie Irwin; great-grandchildren Harleigh, Kennedy and Hunter Grant. He was preceded in death by his father Jim Irwin, mother Ellen Bailey, wife Verna Irwin, sister Violet Beirness and son James Irwin.

Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound on Thursday, April 23^rd from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Funeral Service will take place in the Logan Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 23^rd at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Christie Memorial Cemetery, Orrville, Ontario.
