RONALD BECKETT
November 7th, 1944 – February 5th, 2020

Ronald Beckett passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, surrounded by his loving family. Age 75 years. Beloved husband of the late Bernice (Hefferton) Beckett. Loving father of Ronald Shawn Beckett (Dianna); and Robert Dwayne Beckett (Stacey). Dear grandfather of Robert, Beau, Jace, Caitlin, and Sophia. Great grandfather to Chase and Hudson. Loving brother of Edgar Calvin Beckett (late Muriel), Annie Louise (Lorne), Rosalyn Violet (Cec), and the late Allan Beckett, and Alex Oscar Beckett (Gloria). Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Born in Old Perlican, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland to Gordon and Marion Beckett. Ron had a long career with Vista Radio (Moose FM).

Cremation has taken place.

There will be no service as was Ron’s wish.

Thank you to all the staff, doctors, and care providers that made him comfortable. A very special ‘Thank you’ to Ron’s daughter in law Stacey.

I swam with Ron almost every day in the summer for the past few years. He loved the Bay, and told me if I always stuck close to rocks, trees and water, I would have a good life. He was my friend, and I still consider him a friend in the present tense. I will miss him. I'm sorry for your loss.

To Shawn and Dwayne, So sad to hear of your dad's passing.....He was an awesome guy. I met him through Kinsmen then through the radio station and saw him each time he dropped by our office. He missed your mom after her passing. I'll have a rum for him.

He was one of my nicest customers that come thru timmies on bowes street . Always made my day when hed xome thru he was so sweet. Gonna miss ya hun.rest in peace and spread your wings and fly with the angels.

Sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He grew up next door and kept my mother supplied with trout. A few years back he popped by the school where I taught in Gambo on his way back from Newtown on a visit. A lot of memories. Sincere condolences

I have always missed our Friday night poker nights at Ron's place or Jim Hunts place all those years ago with Fred, Roger and many others. A great friend of long ago now lost. Rest in piece my friend RON

Rest In Peace uncle Ron you will be missed by your sister Louise and brother in-law Lorne and Rodney and Paula are thoughts are with the family.

We both swam with Ron many times in the last couple of years down at our special spot looking out on the big sound. He was always full of advice on how to keep warm when the water got colder and we relied on his trusty thermometer to let us know what the water temperature was. Even when he wasn't able to swim anymore last summer he still came down to watch out for us to make sure we were okay. He was truly a faithful and kind friend. He will be missed greatly. We are so sorry for your loss.

Met Ron down at the salt dock and became friends> He always tried to make time and stop and say hello. Always interesting convos. Will certainly miss him. R.I.P. Ron till we meet again.

Ron was a very good friend. Saw him every week for the last 35 years. Truly will be missed by Ron McNabb. We had very many personal stories that we shared.
