1961 – 2025
Robert Blaine Ormiston passed away suddenly at home on Friday, December 5th, 2025, following a brief illness.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Christine Ormiston. Rob was the proud father of Reilly Ormiston (Rena), who will miss him profoundly. He leaves behind his grandson Arthor Ormiston. Rob will be greatly missed by his step-children Ashley Chowns (Richard), Adam Rachar, Elizabeth Rachar, and Jennifer Rachar, all of Parry Sound. He was the much loved and cherished Papa to Aubrey, Scarlett, and William Middlebrook. Rob is survived by his sister, Wanda Zvanitajs (George), his nephews Andrew and Eric, and niece Krista. Rob will be greatly missed by his sister-in-law and longtime friend Carolynn Simpson.
Rob had many friends who will miss him dearly, but most especially among them are Dan Tye of Parry Sound, John and Liz Guenzer of Kitchener, and Clay and Jennifer Spong, also of Kitchener. Rob will be missed by all of the staff at the Parry Sound Comfort Inn. His wife would like to thank them all for their love and support during this difficult time especially Cindy Milette and Dawn Hancock. Although he was born and raised in Barrie, Rob considered Parry Sound to be his hometown. Both of Rob’s parents, Bob and Merle were raised in Parry Sound, and it is home to many of Rob’s relatives. Rob is predeceased by his parents, and by his brother John.
As was Rob’s wish, cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound, on Friday, December 19th from 11:00 – 12:00 noon. Rob’s Memorial Service will take place in the Logan Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 19th at 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations to assist the family with funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the Logan Funeral Home for assistance (705-746-5855). Donations may be made by e-transfer, cheque, credit card or cash.
