PHYLLIS SCHMIDT
Phyllis Diane Schmidt (Hoffman) passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Wednesday, December 24th, 2025. Age 74 years.
Beloved wife of Gerry Schmidt for 53 years. Loving mother of Travis Schmidt and his wife Cheryl; and Donna McKenna. Cherished Grandma of Dylan (Shania), Dawson, Taylor, and Eoin. Great Grandma of Waylon, Blair, and Violet. Dear sister of Donald Hoffman and his wife Cheryl, and the late Larry Hoffman (late Wendy), and sister-in-law the late Diane. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
As was Phyllis’ wish, cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Phyllis’ family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the wonderful staff at the West Parry Sound Health Centre for their kindness and compassion.
As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice West Parry Sound, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Mrs Schmidt, and she would correct me to say call me Phyllis, will always be one of my moms growing up. Sharing your family with me, taking me to you cottage, driving me to games, and letting me crash the weekend. I never felt anything less then welcomed. Thank you for making me part of your life and being a big part of mine . My heart and prayers goes out to you Travis and Donna and the rest of your family.

My sincere condolences to your family. I have good memories of when Phyllis, Carol Shantz and I (among others) took a Hospice Course together. We also celebrated at the Hoffman and Shantz cottages. Good Memories!

I am saddened to learn of Phyllis’ death. We were close friends growing up and spending time with Phyllis at the Hoffman farm was always a delight for me as a city girl. Though as adults we grew apart, I have many good memories from our friendship. Sincere condolences to all the family.
