Pat, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve been thinking a lot about the years gone by, and the memories come back so clearly—those cold mornings and late nights at the Victory School rink, when the ice was rough, the sticks were worn, and none of us cared because we were just kids chasing a puck and laughing our heads off. I remember the BOCC games too, when we thought we were playing in the NHL, and the street hockey battles on Forest Street that went on until the light was gone and someone finally yelled that supper was ready. Those were good days—simple, honest, and full of the kind of friendship that lasts a lifetime. You’ve been a good friend and neighbour for many years, and those memories are part of the reason why. I hope they bring you a bit of comfort now, and remind you that you’re surrounded by people who care deeply about you. Thinking of you and wishing you strength in the days ahead.
