Condolences

Karin and I will miss Neil for all the reasons in his very fitting obituary but also for the very kind way he (and Judy) kept in touch with us throughout Karin’s cancer fight with operations and chemo whilst undergoing treatment himself. We will never forget his kindness and will miss him. We were shocked by his passing.

Judy, Laura, Doug, Sue and families. I am so sorry for your loss of your Dad. I have memories of staying at the “Wings“ home with Laura. Seeing your Dad in a chair reading his daily newspaper. He was a business man true and true . He could have a rough outside but if you knew him well he appreciated your conversations. Short but pleasant. He had a caring heart, even visiting my recent Dad ‘s visitation. So much appreciated him and Judy coming to give pay their respects. Take care all.

We have such fond memories of Neil – ever since he and his family moved to Pointe au Baril in the ‘70s. We fondly remember the Wings days and then the shift to a whole new career in Pointe au Baril. We shared many fun visits to the cottage, to your Florida home and, of course, to your home on South Shore Road. Sorry to hear about your loss. I remember when I worked for the Cameron family at the gas station, there were alot of good memories. Neil certainly keeped us busy and entertained with his sense of humor. All in fun. He bought a truck from me later in years which meant alot. Rest in peace Neil, and condolences to the family .

Hi Judy and family.
So sorry to learn of Neil’s passing. I send my sympathies and supportive thoughts. Judy, after all the bygone years, I still have warm memories of my calling on the business when I worked for Parry Sound Auto Parts. Occasionally, Neil invited me to join him for lunch. We’d be chatting over a sandwich but when the noon news came on it was ‘shhh’. 😊 Sometimes, I’d leave your place for my last call of the day because occasionally there’d be the offer of a libation and short visit. He was a fine person. Like others, my life was richer having known him and you.

In 1988, when Neil heard we got married, he gave Carole and me a birchbark box with colored porcupine quills. When my father married Mary Kay the next year, Neil gave them a birchbark box with colored porcupine quills. He then said to my father and me, “No more more weddings; the porcupines can’t stand it. Neil was a great guy. I am sorry for your loss; I will miss him too.

Neil and I were lifelong friends starting September 1947 when we met in grade1at Dominion City school. We celebrated our birthdays by staying in each other’s home for the weekend. Separaton following grade 12 was renewed by birthday phone calls. Neil traveled from Winnipeg to Timmins Ontario 1966 to be Best Man for us. We enjoyed numerous visits at their cottage. Neil was my closest non-family brother. We will miss him but never lose contact with our shared memories! Our very deepest condolences to Judy and their children!
