NANCY ROY
Nancy Carrol Roy passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on Saturday, January 17th, 2026. Age 78 years.
Loving daughter of the late Walter and Laura (Staves) Franklin. Beloved wife of the late Jack Baggel. Loving mother of Clifford Roy, Corinna and her husband Lorne Cousineau. Fondly cherished by Jack’s children Jane, Jack, Edith, Julie, David, and the late Emmie. Loving Grandma of Shyann (Jesse), Samantha (Jason), Nathan (Tori), and Lucas. Great Grandma of Ethan, Keira, Lucy, Maisy, Chelsey, and Jaxtyn. Dear sister of Jim, Grace, Muriel, Franklin (John), and the late Ethel, June, Edith, and Charlie. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Nancy was mostly recognized by all for her 35 years at H&R Block. Receiving her Business Accounting Diploma with honours gave her great pride. This gave her the courage to reach the goal of owning H&R Block. It brought her joy connecting and getting to know so many people within the community. Her staff were held dearly in her heart like a work family, as a sign hung at her desk with the quote “Home Sweet Office”.
There’s been many funny stories she has shared over the years from her time working at Dr. Christie’s (Veterinary Clinic). She loved her gardening, flowers, and watching the birds. She also loved gathering with friends and family (Happy Hour), Bingo, playing cards and casinos.
As was Nancy’s wish, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Nancy’s life will take place at a later date.
