LINDA TINDALE FLETCHER
Linda Tindale Fletcher passed away peacefully at Victoria Village Long-Term Care in Barrie, Ontario, on July 31, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born to Wilmer and Lillian Box in Toronto, Ontario, Linda was the beloved wife of John Fletcher for 51 years and a devoted mother to Stacey Tindale and Whitney Tindale (Lori). She was a cherished stepmother to Caryl Fletcher (Irina), Tony Fletcher (Leanne), and Jeannine Farquhar (Bruce). Linda was the dear sister of Gay Robertson and Robert Box. She was a proud grandmother to Avery Tindale, Grady Tindale, Serena Fletcher-LeCraw, Natalie Cheer, Thomas Cheer, and Lindsay Fletcher. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Linda graduated from Branksome Hall in Toronto and began her career as a teacher, working at Eglinton Public School in Toronto, Tweedsmuir Public School in London, and later at a public school in Guelph.
In 1970, Linda embarked on a new career with Dominion Stores, where she served as a department manager for 34 years before retiring in 2004.
Retirement brought Linda and John many happy winters in Florida. She especially enjoyed playing tennis at Maple Leaf Golf & Country Club, where she made many lasting friendships. She was also an enthusiastic card player who loved Duplicate Bridge, Canasta, and Pinochle.
A strong swimmer and gracious hostess, Linda treasured her time at the family cottage on Oastler Lake. Whether swimming, preparing meals, or entertaining family and friends, she found her greatest joy in bringing people together and creating lasting memories.
The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Dr. McConvey and the nursing and Personal Support Worker staff at Victoria Village Long-Term Care for their compassionate care and kindness shown to Linda.
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Parry Sound, Ont. on Friday, August 21st, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. A reception will follow the service at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 117, Parry Sound.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.

Although my interactions with Linda were limited, she was always so incredibly warm and kind. And she was funny! She would half-whisper these hilarious quips that made it seem like you two were in on something together. Her smile and laugh were contagious, and being around her meant that you could let your guard down and relax. Truly one of a kind.

Deepest sympathy to John and the family. We spent many happy years with Linda and John in Maple Leaf in Florida. We hit it off at an initial meeting there in 2009 and enjoyed many wonderful winters with them. Linda’s enthusiasm and uplifting spirit will be sorely missed.
