With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kenneth Charles Crump, fondly known as Butch, who left us peacefully on August 5^th, 2025 at the age of 72.

Butch was a devoted father, a beloved brother, a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, and a loyal friend to many.

Born in 1953 to Kenneth and Helen Crump, Butch grew up surrounded by the love of a large and spirited family. He was a loving brother to Brenda, Mike, Janet, Rick, David, Mary, Kathy, Sandy, Jeff and Shawn, and he held the memories of his late brothers Glen and Scott close to his heart. Butch was a caring and devoted father to Crystal, Alison, Lori, and he carried the memories of Levi and Shannon with enduring love and sorrow. His pride and joy were his grandchildren — Rachel, Colin, Austin, Shannon, Autumn, Loren, and Lily — he embraced his role as “Papa” with endless warmth, humour, and affection. In his later years, he found special joy in being a great-grandfather to Maverick, Malcom, and Arabella delighting in the continuation of his family’s legacy.

Those who knew Butch will remember his unwavering generosity, his gentle spirit, and his quiet strength. He was a man who listened more than he spoke, who gave more than he took, and whose love for his family was the guiding light of his life. Butch had a sharp sense of humour that could light up a room, and a laugh that warmed those around him. He was also a dedicated and hardworking man — the kind who never shied away from doing what needed to be done, always leading by example. A true sports fan at heart, Butch loved nothing more than playing and catching a good old hockey or baseball game, always enjoying the simple moments of life. Though we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the many ways he touched our hearts. Butch’s legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion will live on through all who knew and loved him.

A private memorial service will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honour Butch’s memory by spending time with loved ones, sharing a story, or offering a quiet act of kindness — just as he often did.
