KARL (CHARLIE) SCHLICHTER
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karl (Charlie) Wilhelm Schlichter (85) who passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, with his loving wife by his side at West Parry Sound Health Centre. Son of Karl Sr. and Connie (both predeceased), Charlie was born and raised in Germany and moved to Canada in 1958.
Beloved husband of Diane Schlichter. Loving father of Peter (Cathy) and Geoffrey (predeceased); and Beverley (Clayton) and Sheri (Frank). Dear Grandpa of Amanda (Christopher), Nicole, Kaley (Matt), Dylan, Brittany (Brad), Brandon. Loving Great Grandpa to Zander, Owen and Wyatt. Loving brother to Otto predeceased (Gertrude) and sister to Edeltrude (Karl predeceased). Fondly remembered by his brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews, extended family in Germany, and friends. Charlie will be missed dearly.
Charlie retired from TTC on January 2, 1998 after 30 years of service to enjoy family and “wompany” on Clear Lake. He loved staying warm inside and playing cards with his wife and friends.
We would like to thank all the PSW workers and nursing staff for all the care they provided.
A celebration of life will occur with details to be determined later in 2025.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to:
The Friends (27 Forest Street, Parry Sound, Ontario, P2A 2R2) or
Alzheimer Society (1-239 Manitoba Street Bracebridge, Ontario P1L 1S2)
