JOREE TAYLOR
It is with sadness, that the family of Joree Taylor announce her passing on July 6th, 2024 at the West Parry Sound Health Centre. Age 69 years.
Joree was born in Parry Sound in 1955 to the late Donald and June (Barley) Taylor. Loving and protective mother of Brendan, Garrett, and Rogan. Dear sister of Bryanne, Peter, Scott, Rebecca, and Evan. Fondly remembered by her nephew Keelan, and by her other relatives, and friends.
Joree was an extremely accomplished seamstress who made many outfits for her children in their early years, and tailored items for family and friends. Many people would ask where she had bought the items that she had made. Her interests included reading from her large collection of science fantasy books, computer programming and games, and gardening. She was also jokingly referred to as the “Macrame Queen” in her younger days.
Joree’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the West Parry Sound Health Centre for their compassionate care of Joree.
Donations in Joree’s name to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
“A sister can be seen as someone who is both ourselves and very much not ourselves – a special kind of double”. (Toni Morrison)

Sending our sincere condolences to Joree’s family, We were very sorry to hear of her passing. A few memories come to mind of Joree: one in particular of her and her dear friend David Juffs putting along in David’s Wooden Dippy on a beautiful calm summer night on Georgian Bay, both were laughing and you could see how happy and relaxed Joree was that warm summer evening and how comfortable she was with her friend. We would often visit when the kids were young and you could tell how much she loved and adored her sons. She was a very interesting women and quite a conversationalist. She was always very kind.
