Joan Isabel Hewson passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Monday, October 14th, 2024. Age 91 years.

Beloved wife of the late Martin (Mart) Hewson. Dear mother of Kevin, and the late Blaine and Kerry; and dear step-mother of Paul, and the late Jon and Michael. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Cremation has taken place.

Private interment Fairholme Cemetery at a later date.

Joan’s family would like to thank Sue, Karen, Judy and Shelley, who provided exceptional help for years, and also thank the staff at Belvedere Heights, and Homestay Care.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

We love and will miss you so much Aunt Joan. I’m so thankfull for the many fond memories I have with you growing up. It was so nice living so close. You are a sweet soul who will be remembered fondly by so many people. Rest in Peace.

Gramma Joanie taught us to be light and fun and have great laughs. She showed us how to be ourselves proudly and happily and I have passed this to our boys David and Anthony. I hope to know this forever in my heart ❤️ ❤️❤️Love you Gramma Joanie. Your memory lives on everyday in so many ways of the day to day because you did it all so joyfully.
