GWENDOLYN HARDIE
With deep sadness, the family of Gwendolyn Hardie (née Crisp) announce her peaceful passing surrounded by her family, at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Thursday, June 25th, 2026 at the age of 86.
Beloved wife of the late Ron Hardie. Devoted and loving mother of Kerry Mintz and her husband Jon. Cherished Grandmother of Kelsea, Athena (Sam) and Emma Mintz. Predeceased by her parents Ambrose and Lydia Crisp. Dear sister of Dorothy Jackson (Bill) and Auntie Gwen to Darcy and Casey Jackson (Kathleen). Great Auntie Gwen to Drew, Avery, Nolan and Hazel Jackson. Sister-in-law of Lorraine Laakso (late Ozmo), the late Gord (Erla), Anne Moffat (late John), Jerry (Carol), Linda Freeman (Bill), Chuck, and the late Dawna Jacklin. Fondly remembered by many special nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Gwendolyn’s family wishes to extend a sincere Thank You to Dr. Knight and the nurses in Palliative Care for their kindness and compassion in her final days. Thank you also to the Transitional Care Unit staff at the hospital and the team at Lakeland Long Term Care who provided exceptional care and brought comfort to Gwendolyn’s journey.
Resting at Bayside Family Church, 4 Parry Sound Drive, Parry Sound, where friends will be received on Monday, June 29th from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 – 7:30 P.M.
Funeral Service will take place at the Bayside Family Church on Tuesday, June 30th at 12:30 P.M. Gwendolyn’s favourite colour was purple. As a tribute, feel welcome to dress in colour.

I will forever miss my sweet Gwen. She was one of my Moms dear friends and became one of mine. We shared a pew at church the past few years and often grabbed her to go have coffee at Orr’s or take a drive around town where she told me stories of bygone times and we had a great drive one day out to Burnside’s Bridge where she told me of her childhood here as part of the Burnsides. She was widowed early in married life and never stopped loving and missing her late husband. Heaven has received an Angel and I will miss the privilege of sharing this earth with her.

Gwen was a wonderful sweet lady who will be missed by many. Gwen and Ron spent many evenings at our cabin or at restruants when we made our summer vacations in Parry Sound. Three generations of the Stotler family enjoyed her humor and stories. Our condolences go to her family
