GEORGE CRAWFORD
George Allan Crawford passed away peacefully at his home in McKellar with his family by his side on Monday January 18th, 2021. He was the husband of Judy and they shared 63 years of marriage together. Born in Scotland Ontario he was the son of Wilfred and Violet Crawford. He had many fond memories of his youth on Lake Manitouwabing.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses he was a faithful servant of God. George was a traveling minister who served countless congregations across Ontario. He touched the hearts of everyone he met, George’s faith in God was clearly recognized by the way he lived his life.
He enjoyed being in nature, feeding the chickadee’s and deer from his hands, making maple syrup every spring and working with the natural landscape to enhance it’s beauty. He always took great pride from the work of his hands. He is fondly remembered for his warm smile, can do attitude and his love of righteousness. He had unconditional love for his family. George was always a provider for his family always willing to put their needs ahead of his own. George never gave up on people or things; if it was broken he would fix it.
George’s immediate family consisted of his loving wife Judy, son Danny (deceased), daughter in-law Anna, daughter Marrianne and son Wayne. Survived by his brothers James and Grant. Predeceased by his sister Lillian, Don and Wilfred. George had 5 Grandchildren: Amanda (Rob), Stephanie (Ryan), Kyle (Amber), Brianna (Luke) and Brittany (Caleb). His loving memory will be kept by his large extended family.
The memorial service permitting, will be held outside in the warmer months at his home, amongst his gardens.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Jehovah’s Witnesses (donate.jw.org) or the West Parry Sound Health Centre would be greatly appreciated.
Condolences
We have such fond memories of George when he served us as CO in Sault Ste. Marie .. a truly spiritual, thoughtful, kind person. One memory we have was one time in service when the belt from his trench coat was hanging out the car door as we drove off .. he calmly asked for Bill to 'pull over' ... as he opened the car door, he wondered WHY his belt buckle was laying on the ground? We guess as the car pulled ahead, it ran over the belt and yanked it out of the belt loops of the coat he had on .. sure George thought his kidneys had been ripped out!
We send sincere love to Judy and the family .. looking forward to better times ahead.
It was our privilege to know George and you Judy. Our hearts go out to you and your family. We know you are drawing comfort from the wonderful resurrection hope. What a great day that will be!

-Sandra, Phil, Rachel SabourinDear Judy and Family. George was one of my favorite people, ever since I was a little girl. I was always so happy to see you two (George and Judy). You both were so encouraging, kind and loving. George had a way of making everyone feel like family. He is safe in Jehovah’s memory, awaiting his wake up call, along with all of the dear ones we have lost. It will be such a joyful time, to have welcome back gatherings, instead of memorial services. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Matthew too really respected and liked George. Sending you our love, Matthew and Penny Hutcheson
