Leila and I both considered Frank a good friend. Anytime I ran into him at the marina, he was always welcoming and anxious to share some story about his life on the Bay. Last time I saw him, he invited me to his house to see his shiny red muscle car. While the rest of my group toiled at loading the boat, Frank and I drove off in his golf cart to see his pride and joy.
I’ll miss his spirit. In my experience, a great guy with bad knees, but always positive and welcoming.

My name is Rob King, I am no relation to Frank, although Frank often told me that “I wished that I was”, lol. I was looking forward to spending time with Renee, Brandon and Sierra today to celebrate Frank’s life. Unfortunately Mother Nature has prevented that. I’ve been a friend of Franks for more than 25 years, I always had a smile on my face on my way up to King’s Bay. Frank’s hospitality towards me was second to none, his charisma and personality were larger than life. No matter what was going on, Frank would always ask about my family, especially my kids. Before I could ask about his, he would be going on about Sierra and Brandon with sincere pride. That was something I always appreciated and admired about Frank. I called him last summer and asked if he’d have time to run me out to a work appointment on the bay one morning, should only take an hour: Of course he made time and out we went one beautiful morning. Well six hours and a dozen beers later we pulled back into the marina. Once the work was done, Frank toured me around the bay, sometimes wide open and sometimes drifting with the motor off so he could tell me a story and point out his favourite spots and rock formations. I will always cherish that day, and above all…my friendship with Frank King.

Dear Renée, Brandon, Sierre and all loved ones,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Frank’s sudden passing and sad to have been in China visiting my aging in-laws and unable to attend his visitation. Please accept my deepest condolences.
I’ve known Frank since I was 4 years old in 1971 and growing up, was always impressed by his free, fun-loving spirit. Since King Bay played such a formative role in my life, his parents Frank Sr. and Norma played very big and very happy roles in my childhood and I always saw both of them in Frank.
While it is devastating to lose loved ones from this realm, I have been amazed and delighted to learn, they are not gone, but only transformed. I very much hope the whole family might see him again over the coming days in some other form, as I have experienced with other loved ones. It is a real blessing when they visit as a bird or something else and eases the heavy heart with a bit of peace, some wonder and the hope of eventually reuniting somewhere else. I am hoping you all keep your hearts open for this and benefit from it.
As for this realm, I am wishing you all are able to grieve deeply and then to recover quickly so you can return to loving and enjoying the people and things here during our remaining days together.
