FLORENCE DINSMORE
Florence Helen Dinsmore (nee Rumley)
Florence passed away peacefully March 16th, 2023, after a short stay at the West Parry Sound Health Centre. She was born in Robinson Township, Manitoulin Island in 1934 and was the youngest daughter of the late Cliff and Bessie Rumley.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband Bill in 2018. They were married for 65 years. Florence was a strong and supportive mother to Joyce, Bill (Bonnie), Mitzi (Guy) and Craig and leaves her brother Grant (Mary) and sister-in-law Donna (Blair).
She was a proud grandmother to Seth, James, Max, Neal, Alex, Thomas, and Kathleen, and four great grandchildren Ian, Claire, Aidan and Colton.
Florence was predeceased by her sisters Cappy, Hazel and Geordie and brother Leslie.
Bill and Florence lived and made friends throughout Ontario including the communities of Azilda, Nobel and Cornwall during their working years and Waterloo, Meaford and Barrie after retirement. She was a respected and well-liked administrator for over forty years and had many talents and interests including quilting, golf, cards and travelling with Bill.
After Bill’s passing Florence returned to Parry Sound and enjoyed her final years with family, friends and the supportive staff at the Gardens.
As per Florence’s wishes she has been cremated. Later this year interment will take place at Silver Lake Cemetery, Manitoulin Island.
Condolences
My heart is aching over the news of your Mom's passing. I am so glad I got to see her myself at the Gardens just before COVID. Regretfully, Josey never did get to meet her. To Mitzi, Craig, 'Little' Bill and Joyce, our thoughts and our prayers are with you, and also to your children and extended families. Such wonderful childhood memories of living two doors apart on Paul Street in Azilda when we were growing up. I remember my Mom and your Mom having visits over a cup of tea discussing their common careers and Mrs. McNeil often joining in. You have our sincere condolences.
-Doug & Josey McCannOur most sincere condolences to Joyce, Mitzi, Bill and Craig and families on the loss of your dearest Mother and Grandmother. Florence was an absolute Gem and we are sure going to miss her. Heaven has surely gained another Angel. I know Bill was at Heavens Gate waiting for the love of his life with open arms. Again our sincere sympathy to all the family, relatives and friends of this very Special Lady. Big hugs to you all.

Florence was a lovely person. Gwen and I always enjoyed our friendship with Florence and Bill over the years - in Parry Sound, Meaford and their visits to us in Baden. The Dinsmore children are very fortunate in having such exceptional parents. I have many fond memories of them. My sincere condolences to the family.
