EVELYN SMITH

Evelyn Joyce (Cormack) Smith passed away at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Sunday, June 4th, 2023, at the age of 91.

Predeceased by her husband Jim and survived by her younger sister Vivian (Don), brother Bill (Linda). Loving mother of Brent (Kim), Greg (Jill), Todd (Colette). Cherished ‘Gram’ to her seven grandchildren: Ryan, Tara (Kyle), Courtney, Andrew (Sharla), Steven (Eiryn), Autumn (Travis), James (Willow), and three great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Cali, and Bryson.

As was Evelyn’s wish, cremation has taken place.

Evelyn lived a long life setting an example as a trailblazer for her time. From a newsworthy dance career at a young age to the head cashier at her father’s store at the age of ten, graduating from high school before the age of 16, and running a successful family business with her husband, she leaves a legacy that will not be forgotten.

Evelyn was happiest when her home was full of friends and family. With decorations for every occasion and an elaborate magazine dinner on the table. She could always be counted on to answer the phone and lend an ear when you needed to talk.

She will forever be remembered for knitting sweaters for her grandchildren, her unconditional love, and willingness to help wherever needed. Our comfort lies in knowing she is reunited with the love of her life following 70 years of marriage.

Our sincere thank you to the staff at the Gardens for the amazing care they provided.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the West Parry Sound Health Centre would be appreciated.

Condolences
