Elizabeth Irma Pike

Our beloved Elizabeth Irma Pike (nee Wickamakis) age 56 years is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years Robert C. Pike sons Daniel and Robert W. daughter Roberta son-in-law Daniel McLaughlin
and grandbaby Matthew McLaughlin.
Liz is sister to Isabel Cada Alvin Loucks Bertha Kagagins as well as the late Isador and Lawrence Nettagog.
She is also survived by her Auntie Mary Ashawasegai who Liz loved as a mother and many other relations.
Lizís Anishinaabe name was Mina-waay-waay-ja-waan which refers to the calming musical sound of bubbling water running over rocks in a brook
and her personality matched every bit of her name.
Liz was of the Amik (or Beaver) clan and came from Bekanon. Her great grandfather Wagamake signed the Robinson-Huron Treaty on behalf of his band. She was a strong Anishinaabequay of great faith and love for her people. In her profession as a social worker she assisted individuals in their recovery from
inter-generational trauma and worked to support them in their reclamation of culture and identity. Her presence will be deeply missed however she will live on in her familyís hearts minds and spirits for eternity.
May she return to the creator and experience the joys of the spirit.
