I miss you my friend. You will forever be our miracle man, our crazy Canadian. I’m devastated you won’t be flying in to visit this November- guess we will never know what mayhem or plague you could bring to Australia this time. Love you forever.

Shocked and so sad to read this announcement. Doug was not only my student in Grade 3, but later a friend who brightened many years with his wit, and actions, and amazing my wife and kids and me with his incessant bravery and strength. Rest well , young hero.
