DONALD BRUNTON

Donald (Don) James Brunton, aged 74, passed away on August 31, 2026 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. He is lovingly remembered by his Wife Susan (Sue), daughters Miranda and Kelsey, his Mother (Scotty Craig) and siblings (David, Stephan, Jeffery, Mark, and Karen).

Donald served as a longtime Pharmacist in Parry Sound, Ontario. In addition to filling your prescription, he would also brighten your day with jokes and puns. He enjoyed making people laugh, watching tennis, cycling, baseball and hockey, as well as sampling delicious baked goods, especially his favourite oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

His family would like to thank the team at Sunnybrook Hospital for their compassion and care. For those who wish to express sympathy or are searching for a way to memorialize Don, please offer your condolences through this posting, or consider a donation to Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation or your local Public Library.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

You may send your donation directly through the charity’s web-site, or if you require assistance with your donation, please call us at 705-746-5855 Monday to Friday during regular office hours.

Sue, Miranda and Kelsey:
Having worked next to Donald day in and day out for 25 plus years at Georgian Bay Drugs, Big V Pharmacy and then Shoppers, we developed a wonderful friendship.
The puns and jokes were a daily ration and I remember many of them today.
Our heartfelt sympathy to all of you.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

So many memories of Don and his puns. He will be remembered as a good friend in years gone by, and my rommie at New College, U or T.
I am sorry for your loss.

I worked with Don at Georgian Bay Big V Pharmacy. It was my first job as a pharmacist in a retail pharmacy. He was a wonderful coworker and we shared many laughs. I would never have a better person to work with.
My condolences to Sue and the girls.

To Miranda and family,
I knew Don as a classmate at the University of Toronto studying pharmacy. We moved together as a large class for four years. I remember Don very well, particularly for his puns. He certainly enjoyed making people smile. He seemed a gentle, somewhat shy, friendly soul. A lovely, kind person.
My sincere condolences to Don’s family and friends for your loss.

Dear Sue and family,
So sorry to hear about this. Met both Don and Dave when they first moved to Parry Sound and we hung out at Judy Harts way back when!!!
We used to call him Dino when I worked with him at Rexall. He was always fun and had a great sense of humor.
