DEBBIE McGIBBON
DEBBIE ANNE SUSAN TIDY McGIBBON
1964 - 2025
It is with a very heavy heart that I, Paul McGibbon lost my best friend, lover, and soulmate at our home in Byng Inlet on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025, suddenly after 45 years of being inseparable.
We travelled the world together even though she fought with Type 1 Diabetes her whole life.
Debbie was a talented actor and performed Off-Broadway in New York City, and the Toronto comedy scene. After the birth of her son Chance in 1997, she mentored with acclaimed artist Bert Weir and taught Life Drawing to the Parry Sound Station Gallery artists, and has over 1000 paintings in her collection at Byng Inlet Fine Art Gallery.
As a tribute to Debbie, her son Chance will have an art exhibit and celebration of life with the venue and date to be announced in the next few weeks.
Any donations or support would be greatly appreciated. Please respond by e-mail to [email protected]
Condolences
I can’t believe I am writing this message about my dear friend, Debbie - one of the most creative, spirited and loving people I have ever had the pleasure to call a friend. Her joy of life was powerful - her playful nature contagious. She was a character with brilliant Bohemian style. She loved Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gogh, Marc Chagall and Gustav Klimt. It was Bert Weir who recognized her spark of brilliance and encouraged her to create inspired, original artworks. Debbie loved and was loved. That part of her will stay with me. I will miss her.
With deepest condolences,
Edith Fullerton
