DAVE HUTCHINSON
It is with heavy hearts that the family of David Hutchinson announce his peaceful passing at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024. Age 72 years.
Beloved husband of Mieke Hutchinson. Loving father of Jesse and his wife Stephy; and Amy and her husband Jonathan. Cherished Grandpa of baby Ethan. Dear brother of Rev. Noel Hutchinson (Marnie); Laurel Golle (Henning); and the late Heather. Dave will be forever missed by his “granddogs”: Stella and Kia. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Dave was born in Toronto, and moved to Parry Sound when he was 19. His first job was at L & H Motors, where he completed his mechanics apprenticeship. He always had a love for motors, whether G.M., Mercury, or Polaris, and he fixed, tuned, or re-built many an engine.
Dave’s first love was with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus. As a long-time member of the Pentecostal Church, he drove the Sunday School bus for many years, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a Board Member. He lived his life with Jesus at the centre of it.
Dave’s second love was his wife of 47 years, Mieke. They were best friends since they met in 1974, sharing their love of boating, snowmobiling, and motorcycling. They shared many fond memories of family trips on or around Georgian Bay, and watched many beautiful sunsets together.
Dave will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He left us too soon, after a lengthy battle with Leukemia, but he is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
Dave’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful nurses and doctors in the Emergency Department, I.C.U., and Palliative Care at the West Parry Sound Health Centre for their wonderful care of Dave.
Resting at the Logan Funeral Home, where friends will be received on Monday, November 4th, from 1:00 -4:00 P.M. and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Private family interment at Sylvan Acres Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army, or Teen Challenge North would be appreciated. The family encourages Red Cross blood donations in Dave’s honour to help other Leukemia patients, and to save a life.
