CHARLES H. KNIGHT
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Charles H. Knight, lovingly known as Charlie.
Charlie is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Rose Mai (née Nadon). Loving father of Dayna (late Brock Millman) and Lou Ann (Jason) Seabrook. Proud Papa of Jeydan, Logan (Braeden), Samantha (Brandon), and Paige. Big brother to Ted (Cathy), Robert (Holly), and Don (Carol). Uncle to Angela and James. Special uncle to John, Christi, and Tori. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Isabell, and brother Jim (Dot).
Charlie was born and raised in Parry Sound, and worked throughout the province before settling in Sarnia. He wore many hats in his lifetime, including OPP Officer, Paramedic, Firefighter, and Railway Conductor, although his favourite hat was Papa. Charlie was an avid fisherman, hunter and, later in life, golfer. Charlie was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, and Eucharistic Minister at St. Benedict Church.
Charlie’s family would like to express a sincere thank you to Dr. Butler, the staff at BWH in Sarnia and Petrolia, and Bear Creek Terrace, especially the caring and compassionate medical team of Ruby Hall, who took such great care of Charlie these past few months. We appreciate you ALL. Charlie was loved by his family, friends, and all those around him.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with prayers to be held at 7:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 1011 Oak Ave, Sarnia on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A burial of ashes to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Sarnia. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank (cheques only at the funeral home please).
