Brian H. Forbes passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Monday, February 23^rd, 2026 at the age of 73. He has moved on to a better place – one where pain no longer follows, where the sun and rain fall just right for the hay to grow, the snow never knocks out the satellite dish, and even Walmart always has enough cash registers open.

Born in 1952, Brian was, at heart and in life, a farmer. He valued hard work, simple pleasures, and the quiet rhythm of the land. He was known for his practical nature, his resilience, and a sense of humour that reflected his straightforward view of the world. Brian found comfort in routine, pride in honest work, and companionship in both people and animals alike.

Brian is now reunited with his beloved parents, Harry and Helen Forbes; His brothers, Bruce and Stan Forbes (Bev); and his sister, Doreen McWade (the late Glenn).

He leaves behind his devoted niece, Tracey, and her husband Greg, who will miss him deeply. He will also be sadly missed by his special furry companion, Maggie. Brian will be fondly remembered by his brother Mike and his wife Laurie, as well as by his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and one great-great-niece, many relatives, and close friends whose lives he touched in quiet but meaningful ways.

A special gratitude is extended to his cousin Barry, whose constant support and willingness to help meant more to Brian than words can express and was deeply appreciated.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the West Parry Sound Health Centre with heartfelt appreciation for the compassionate care provided by the ICU nursing staff.

Resting at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound, where friends will be received on Friday, February 27^th from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M.

Funeral Service will take place in the Logan Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 27^th at 1:30 P.M.

Brian will be remembered for his strength, his independence, and the steady presence he brought to those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind memories rooted deeply – like good soil – that will continue to grow in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
